Back Forest is a rural locality on the flats north of the Shoalhaven River and east of Broughton Creek, north-east of Nowra. The land is low, only a few metres above sea level, and sits within the lower Shoalhaven floodplain, where farms and rural homesteads make up most of the landscape. Back Forest Road runs through it, and its neighbours include Jaspers Brush, Far Meadow, Coolangatta and Numbaa.
