Living in Jerrara
Jerrara is a rural locality just west of Kiama, on the way to Jamberoo, reached from Jamberoo Road along Jerrara Road. It is farmland with a scattering of homes and rural properties, quiet despite being so close to town. The district has a long history for its size: the first National school in the area opened at Jerrara in 1858, and the dam here was once Kiama's main water supply.

Farmland on Kiama's doorstep
The old Jerrara Dam, decommissioned in the 1950s, is now a council reserve, the Jerrara Arboretum, with walking tracks and picnic tables around the water, reached from Mount Brandon Road. Landcare volunteers are regenerating the bush around it, and birdwatchers have recorded more than 170 species there. Everything else is in Kiama, just to the east: the shops, the station, the beaches and the schools.

Selling
Selling in Jerrara
Sales in Jerrara are infrequent and no two properties are alike. Land size, how much of it is usable, water, the views and what the rural zoning allows usually matter more to value than the house. We appraise rural property from comparable sales across the Kiama and Jamberoo district and can explain what acreage buyers look for.
Renting it out instead? We manage rental homes in Jerrara too, where houses in the postcode lease for around $830 a week.
